Former Gilroy High School Principal, Martin Enriquez, dies June 17, 2020

Gilroy, CA – Former Gilroy High School Principal, Martin Enriquez, died Wednesday, June 17 after a yearlong illness.  Mr. Enriquez was appointed by the Board of Education as the new principal of Gilroy High School in May 2019.  He served as the principal at GHS for six months before resigning in early 2020.

Martin Enriquez was originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico, and came to GUSD after serving as an assistant principal at North Monterey County High School.  He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from New Mexico State University, and began his career as a math teacher.  Martin was a school administrator for 18 years and finished his career in GUSD.  Mr. Enriquez is survived by his wife Yvonne, and three sons: Martin Jr., Dre and Stevan.
